Bankey Bihari temple, Vrindavan

Bankey Bihari Temple is a famous Hindu temple dedicated to Krishna, in the holy city of Vrindavan in the Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh, India. The temple was established by Swami Haridas, a guru of the famous singer Tansen. The present building constructed in 1864 has a unique architectural character and has tremendous socio-cultural-religious significance.

Our responsibilities as conservation consultant included historical and architectural study to highlight the values and significance of the temple, carrying out condition assessment of the existing building and proposing a conservation and maintenance plan. A phase-wise action plan was developed which included the immediate structural interventions, architectural repairs, removal of inappropriate additions, infrastructure upgradation and more.
